Hey guys whats going on? Just to keep y'all informed I am graduating Engineer Officer Basic Course in a few hours and I earned a slot to Ranger School starting 9 February. Depending on how I do there I will go to Korea afterwords if I dont get a chance to go to Airborne School. I am going to Camp Castle 2nd Engineer Battalion. Only 3.2 miles from the DMZ. I am going with a good buddy of mine from west point so it ought to be fun. Well that's about it, take care and wish me luck!

  2. Pete Anderson is now in flight school at Randolph AFB, TX to become an Air Force navigator. He is expected to finish in January 2003 and hopes to be flying a C-130 or a B-52 after graduation.

  3. Paul Tanoos is currently working at Welch, Roberts & Amburn accounting in downtown Charleston. He still has the occasional National Guard drill weekend once a month. He is now living on James Island in a rented room.

Congrats to you all. I am sure you are all burning the rubber as you venture out in the real world. (no pun intended -- thanks to MTV) This is a great site with some good photos of your memories. I am glad they are here so we can share them with you as well. Congrats Nick on your new family and let me know how everyone is doing. I am at Shaw still, however, I am deploying in a very short order to a CLASSIFIED location. Hope you are all well.
    Take Care.

I am living the good life in Macon, GA at Robins AFB just doing paperwork all day long. Life is good and I am basically on my computer all day long so it isn't too stressful. I go to Chucktown almost every weekend since it is only like 3 hours away and I still go out and drink like a fish. If y'all are in town call me at 843-696-1940 and we can hang out.

  7. Andy O'Brien writes: How goes it fellas? I Graduated from OBC in September and started Ranger school two days later. After getting hurt and a shitty RI, Im just getting to Mountain phase. Mike Hurst and Joe Florczak are graduating Friday and Eric Brown and Tom Compitello are both in my company. Looks like theres going to be plenty of work over in Iraq for those of us in the military and I should be getting out just in time to get into the fight. Got engaged in July and were planning on getting married in October of next year. Hope all you boys are doing well and taking care of things wherever you happen to be. Good luck to all you guys and Ill see you men around.

  8. Jerry Hitchner writes: Hey guys whats going on. Hope this finds you all well. I am at Vandenberg AFB going through Officer Space Prerequisite Training. Soon enough, I will be starting my job at either Malmstrom, WY or Minot, ND. Things are going well, LA is a pretty cool town.

  10. (April 24, 2003) Joey Diliberto:
Whadda ya say boys! Well, I'm writing this as if it's the last time. On 24 April 03, I'll be going through open heart surgery. Remember that thing that prevented me from going into the Army? Well, it's getting fixed. I've been seeing the Dr. for the last couple of weeks and the condition has worsened. The Cardiologist that's working on me is one of the most renown Heart Doctors in the world, and he recommends me to do this ASAP. To be completely honest, I'm still trying to swallow that pill. I don't understand how someone like me, needs valve replacement surgery . . . There's gonna be a lot of rehab time. At least 3 months or so. I'll be staying with my parents and in the mean time, I'll be making my plans to re-attend El Cid to get my ring and finish my degree, so I can stand alongside ya'll one day and really know, I've accomplished what you've accomplished. I'll make it through this one alright just like anything else I've encountered. I'm mean as hell. I've gone through knob year with the class of '02 right? What could be tougher? My folks will keep you posted on how I'm doin, so keep the e-mails comin. I wish the boys overseas Good Luck. I just might have a chance to get in the fight! (after I graduate school of course.) GOD BLESS YOU BOYS. And just for good measure, I have asked my mom to include my song to ya'll. So Jeff, and everyone else, here's the lyrics to "These Four Years." Last thing, my brother Jake got hurt overseas while the "Iraqi: Freedom" Campaign was goin on. He's ok. He was able to call my ma and pop. He wishes ya'll well. Guys, it's good to know you.

  11. (April 29, 2003) Joey Diliberto:
    Hey Guys -
I just want you all to know that i'm home from the hospital. I really appreciate ya'll calling and talking with my ma or pop or me lending out your support and prayers. Despite having my chest wall completlely re-configured, and a constant shortness of breath, i'm doing well and will be in Chicago for the remainder of my recovery. this really came as a shock to me and a lot of folks I know. I didn't really know my condition was as bad as it was. but the good news is once the recovery is over, I'll have a complete clean bill of health. I intend to come back to El Cid and finish my math classes and graduate. after that, I don't really know what I'm gonna do, but the Army may still be an option. as a recruitment option, surgury DOES NOT disqualify me. I know this for fact. Its the same for the Fire Depts., but you all know "soldier-ing" is what I do best. anyway, task #1 is graduation, Task #2 is the Ring, and Task #3 is carreer oriented choices. I sure hope there is something out there that will still accept me. I have a good positive attitude, and will take on the rehab challenge with ease. the Doctors all say that I will be superman compared the athlete I was before the surgury. the explained that my mind "didn't recognize" the strain my body was in and compensated for it. wwll, i reckon with the same mind set and a new heart valve....well shit.... the army just can't afford to deny me again! hahaha. Love you brothers .... my band of brothers.... from the class of '02. Talk to you soon.
